As of the date above there are no affiliate links on OutpostCore at all. When that changes, this page changes with it, and every affected page carries a disclosure at the top before you reach any recommendation.

Affiliate links, when they arrive

Some gear guides will carry affiliate links. If you buy through one, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

The rules attached to that:

• A disclosure appears above the fold on any page with paid links, and again next to the links themselves.
• The free or nearly free option is listed first, even when it earns nothing.
• We publish guides that recommend buying nothing as readily as guides that recommend buying something.
• No affiliate links appear in medical content, ever.
• We do not quote prices, because we have no live price data and a stale price is worse than none.

Our own products

We build a few other things. Any link to one of them carries a note saying it is ours, right next to the link, and there are never more than two such links in an article. They are deliberately absent from the site navigation. The full list lives on the projects page, and where a free alternative to one of ours exists we name it.

What we do not do

• No sponsored posts and no paid placements.
• No newsletter sponsorship, now or later.
• No paid links, link exchanges or private blog networks.
• No free gear in exchange for coverage without saying so in the article.

If we get this wrong

A missing disclosure is a bug, not a grey area. Report it and we will fix it the same day.
